About Man & Woman of the Year

Imagine a world without blood cancer. Every year, for ten weeks, a handful of people across the country dedicate themselves to making that world a reality. They compete in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Man & Woman of the Year campaign, a competition that awards the men and women who raise the most funds for LLS’s blood cancer research and patient services. To date, candidates have helped LLS invest more than $1 billion in breakthrough research.

This year, Allie’s Allies For a Cure are taking on the fight in New York City, with our eye on the prize of a national title. Every dollar raised counts as one vote and takes us one step closer to a cure. Join us! Learn more about the Man & Woman of the Year campaign here.

About Allie

Allie is looking to do something big in her last year of her 20s. What better way to ring in the big 3-0 than by raising a ton of life-saving funds?

Born in New Jersey, Allie was passionate about charity work from an early age. Her work with nonprofits in high school helped her build business and public relations skills, which she continued to develop while at Muhlenberg College in Pennsylvania. Upon graduating, Allie was accepted by the NBC Page Program, where she spent a year learning the ins and outs of the television industry.

After the program, Allie returned to the nonprofit world as a campaign manager for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). Her new position coincided with her grandmother’s own blood cancer diagnosis, and the cause became hugely important to her.

Since 2013, Allie has worked for Fortune and TIME magazines, in Time Inc.’s Live Media department, as the Executive Relations Manager for the magazines’ events team. She oversees internal and external communication and customer service for event guests.

Allie lives in New York City and is honored--and extremely excited--to be a candidate for a campaign so close to her heart. She is hugely thankful to her campaign team, a group of wonderful family and friends, who have so selflessly volunteered to make this campaign an enormous success.
